Audit & Assurance Manager – Deloitte Muscat

About the role

As an Audit & Assurance Manager at Deloitte in Muscat, you will lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high‑quality delivery and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with senior partners and component auditors to shape audit strategies and add value for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and supervise audit engagements, reviewing transaction flows and control testing early in the audit cycle.
• Apply professional skepticism to assess fraud risks and potential misstatements, and recommend mitigating testing when controls are ineffective.
• Coordinate group risk assessment and manage referrals to component auditors, setting clear expectations and evaluating their responses.
• Maintain audit files, conduct regular file checks, and ensure proper documentation and file structure for each engagement.
• Engage early with the extended audit team, communicate project plans, responsibilities and deadlines, and drive timely completion of audit work.
• Identify opportunities to add value by leveraging Deloitte’s specialist resources and integrating expertise across the firm.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or equivalent professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA).
• Significant experience in audit and assurance, preferably within a Big‑Four environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex control environments.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior stakeholders and component auditors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage deadlines and deliver high‑quality audit outcomes.
