Banquet Manager

About the role

The Banquet Manager leads the planning, coordination and execution of all banquet events at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. This role works closely with sales, kitchen, front office and other hotel departments to deliver high‑quality service for meetings, weddings, conferences and social functions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage banquet functions from initial setup through breakdown.
• Review banquet event orders and communicate requirements to all relevant departments.
• Coordinate room layouts, seating, décor, audiovisual needs and special guest requests.
• Conduct pre‑event briefings and monitor service quality, timing and presentation during events.
• Maintain banquet areas to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and hygiene.
• Handle operational challenges and guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Lead, coach and develop banquet supervisors, captains, servers and casual staff.
• Prepare staffing schedules, conduct daily briefings and ensure adherence to IHG and hotel service standards.
• Build strong relationships with event organizers, key clients and VIP guests.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in banquet operations within a four‑ or five‑star hotel.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in high‑volume banquet, events or conference operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under pressure.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and extended hours.
