Commis I – Staff Dining (Full‑time)

About the role

The Commis I supports the Staff Dining operation by preparing and cooking food to the highest quality standards. This full‑time, on‑site position works in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen environment, ensuring guests receive delicious meals safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, chop, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for doneness.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness, disinfect tools and equipment, and monitor food temperatures.
• Set‑up and break‑down stations, serve food in proper portions, and adhere to safety and quality policies.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods, and moving items safely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to follow company safety, security and hygiene procedures.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning, measuring and mixing.
• Cooking according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Food safety practices and temperature monitoring.
