Manager, Environmental Management

About the role

The Manager, Environmental Management will lead OQ's environmental strategy, governance and performance across operated assets and projects in Oman and internationally. Reporting to the Head of HSE Support, the role translates legal and corporate requirements into actionable standards and drives the company’s decarbonisation and net‑zero ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the environmental strategy, annual plan, budget and performance targets for offshore, onshore and international assets.
• Translate legislation, permits and corporate standards into policies, procedures and operational controls aligned with ISO 14001.
• Provide regulatory advice, review permit applications and manage stakeholder engagement with authorities, lenders and joint‑venture partners.
• Lead decarbonisation initiatives, GHG monitoring, emissions reporting and sustainability disclosures.
• Oversee environmental impact assessments, risk assessments and technical studies throughout project lifecycles.
• Manage audits, inspections, emergency‑response plans and ensure effective closure of findings.
• Develop the Environmental Management team, drive Omanisation and promote environmental awareness across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical or Process Engineering.
• 8+ years of post‑qualification experience in environmental engineering or management, preferably in oil & gas.
• Proven leadership of environmental professionals, budgets and external consultants.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Knowledge of Omani environmental legislation and international standards.
