Retail Sales Intern – Customer Service & Visual Merchandising

About the role

The Retail Sales Intern will support the store’s daily operations by delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with visual merchandising, and handling point‑of‑sale transactions. This role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced retail environment and the opportunity to develop sales and inventory skills.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, understand their needs and guide them to suitable products.
• Promote the Club Apparel Loyalty Program and convert window shoppers into buyers.
• Maintain store presentation standards, ensure merchandise is displayed according to visual‑merchandising guidelines.
• Handle POS transactions, process cash, card, voucher and automatic debit payments accurately.
• Perform cash‑till reconciliation at the start and end of shifts.
• Record inbound and outbound inventory movements and generate related reports.
• Adhere to loss‑prevention policies, SOPs and maintain confidentiality of sales data.
• Work flexible shifts, including extended hours during sales periods.

Required profile

• Presentable, well‑groomed and professional appearance at all times.
• Strong product knowledge and ability to stay updated on brand offerings.
• Flexible availability for varied shifts, overtime and extended sales periods.
• Attention to detail and vigilance regarding store security.

Required skills

• Operation of POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Cash handling and till reconciliation.
• Basic inventory tracking and reporting.
