Testing and Commissioning Engineer

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Testing and Commissioning Engineer to lead the planning, coordination and execution of testing activities for large‑scale railway infrastructure projects. You will ensure that all systems and equipment operate safely and meet project specifications before handover to the client.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update testing and commissioning plans, procedures and schedules aligned with project timelines.
• Collaborate with design, construction and systems teams to define commissioning requirements and interface points.
• Lead on‑site testing and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, signalling and telecom systems.
• Manage Factory Acceptance Testing, System Integration Testing and Site Acceptance Testing for complex railway systems.
• Supervise and validate testing performed by vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety standards.
• Coordinate issue resolution with all stakeholders and oversee final system integration, performance testing and acceptance.
• Prepare and submit final commissioning documentation, as‑built records and support client training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of railway or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex technical interfaces.

Required skills

• Testing and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, signalling and telecom systems.
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Integration Testing (SIT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory codes and contract specifications for railway projects.
