Chief Executive Officer – Power Plant (405 MW)

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead a listed power company owned by ENGIE Middle East. The company operates a 405 MW open‑cycle gas‑turbine plant in Oman and reports to the Board of Directors and ENGIE’s Head of Asset Management for UAE & Oman.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver shareholder value while meeting all contractual obligations and overseeing dividend distribution.
• Ensure maximum plant availability, reliability and compliance with the Grid Code and operator contracts.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve Health, Safety & Environmental management systems.
• Lead human‑resources strategy, including localisation, staffing, performance evaluation and salary policy.
• Apply the Board‑approved Delegation of Authority and maintain corporate ethics, legal and regulatory compliance.
• Manage high‑level interfaces with authorities, banks, clients and capital‑market regulators.
• Prepare and obtain Board approval for annual budgets, mid‑term business plans and secure lender consent for operating budgets.
• Report regularly to the Board and shareholders on material events, financial performance and operational issues.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑management experience in the power generation or energy sector, preferably with listed companies.
• Proven track record of full P&L responsibility and dividend management.
• Strong understanding of gas‑turbine plant operations, O&M contracts and grid regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and drive localisation of workforce.
• Experience interacting with boards, shareholders, regulators and financial institutions.
