Chief Financial Officer – Banking Sector (Muscat, Oman)

About the role

The client is a leading banking institution in Oman seeking a senior finance executive to steer its financial strategy and regulatory compliance. The Chief Financial Officer will provide overall financial leadership, ensuring robust balance‑sheet management and alignment with international reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead banking‑sector financial operations and strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee IFRS implementation and CBO regulatory reporting.
• Manage Basel framework compliance, including Basel I and ICAAP.
• Direct capital planning, balance‑sheet management, and capital adequacy assessments.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, and management reporting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 17 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in banking.
• European nationality (as specified by the client).
• Proven experience engaging with boards, external auditors, rating agencies, and investors.
• Strong strategic leadership and decision‑making capabilities.
