Health Safety Environment Engineer – Brownfield Project in Oman

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety Environment (HSE) Engineer to join a brownfield expansion project in Sohar, Oman. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to lead HSE engineering activities on a major construction and oil‑&‑gas development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee HSE engineering functions and implement advanced safety strategies.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments in line with client and regulatory standards.
• Develop HSE procedures, reports, and compliance tracking tools.
• Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote a strong HSE culture among all project stakeholders.
• Monitor contractors’ HSE performance and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting to meet client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Safety, Chemical preferred).
• Minimum 10 years total experience, with at least 5 years in HSE roles within construction or oil & gas.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HSE analysis and reporting tools.
