Port Design and Marine Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead our Port Design and Marine team, acting as the primary interface with the client and overseeing the full project lifecycle for port and marine infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, coordinating multidisciplinary efforts across port infrastructure, on‑shore construction, mechanical equipment and mine development.
• Provide overall project leadership and strategic guidance, ensuring alignment of all components and compliance with contractual and technical standards.
• Oversee the Resident Engineer and discipline engineers, supervising day‑to‑day site activities and ensuring effective coordination between all project packages.
• Review and validate design submissions, technical reports, method statements and progress reports.
• Monitor construction progress across mine and port works, aligning schedules and interfaces.
• Direct procurement strategy and major equipment purchases in collaboration with the Procurement Specialist.
• Lead progress review meetings with the client and deliver executive‑level reporting.
• Maintain a site presence of at least one week per month and provide remote support between visits.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of cumulative experience in Civil Engineering, with at least 10 years focused on design of port and marine structures.
• Proven experience leading at least two port construction projects of $1 million USD or more.
• Preferably five years of continuous employment with a consulting firm.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
