Public Relations Officer (PRO)

About the role

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking an experienced Public Relations Officer to act as the primary liaison between the company and Omani government authorities. Based in Muscat, you will ensure that all visas, permits, licences and related documentation are processed accurately and on time, supporting the smooth operation of our local office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage government‑related transactions such as visas, labour cards, residency permits, renewals, cancellations and transfers.
• Liaise with government authorities and service centres to meet day‑to‑day operational and compliance requirements.
• Support employee onboarding and off‑boarding processes related to immigration, residency and employment documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of employee documents, company licences, permits and renewal dates, taking timely action when needed.
• Process government payments and assist in the preparation, submission and follow‑up of required documentation.
• Provide administrative support to the In‑Country Manager and internal teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling government transactions and administrative processes in Oman.
• Good understanding of Omani labour, immigration, visa and residency procedures.
• Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Excellent organisational abilities with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with government authorities and external stakeholders.
• Valid Omani driving licence and willingness to travel locally as required.

• Fluency in Arabic.
