Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide high‑quality, commercially focused legal advice to support OQ8’s business activities. Reporting to the Head of Legal, the role safeguards the company’s interests, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to strategic decision‑making across corporate, commercial, financing and project matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely legal advice on contracts, finance, commercial, corporate and project matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements, project contracts and other legal documents.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business initiatives.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on potential impacts.
• Coordinate with external counsel, manage legal costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Support corporate governance activities and compliance programs.
• Collaborate with business units to devise effective legal risk strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in corporate, commercial and project law.
• Proven ability to handle complex negotiations and multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Strong understanding of Omani law and international best practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
