Senior Specialist – General Ledger Operations

About the role

The Senior Specialist in General Ledger Operations will lead and organise the Financial Operations team, ensuring accurate accounting processes and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation of the general ledger, period‑end closing, and the accurate recording of all accounting entries.

Key responsibilities

• Execute general ledger accounting, including all accounting transactions and period‑end closing activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, amortisation, depreciation and other adjustments.
• Review automatic postings, identify discrepancies and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve them.
• Maintain and analyse the Chart of Accounts to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and support balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with external, internal and state audit requirements, providing necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with finance and non‑finance stakeholders to ensure accurate accruals and reserves.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiency improvements.
• Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general ledger accounting and period‑end closing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and chart‑of‑accounts management.
• Ability to lead a finance team and coordinate cross‑functional activities.
• Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory compliance.
