Sustainability Engineer

About the role

The Sustainability Engineer will lead the implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy across construction projects. Working closely with site teams, you will translate high‑level sustainability targets into practical, on‑site actions that reduce environmental impact while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement sustainability measures aligned with the corporate strategy and drive change management on construction sites.
• Translate sustainability targets into actionable site‑level measures and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Coordinate approvals and inspections with regulatory authorities and monitor adherence to Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
• Track resource use (fuel, energy, water, materials), carbon emissions, and other environmental aspects such as air quality, noise, dust, and water discharge.
• Support waste reduction, recycling initiatives, and conduct environmental inspections and audits.
• Collect data for sustainability KPIs, prepare reports, and train site teams on best practices.
• Promote sustainable construction methods and contribute to pilot projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in construction or environmental roles.
• Strong understanding of site operations and practical implementation of sustainability measures.
• Experience with environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
• Motivation for sustainability topics and ability to work independently with ownership.
• Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.
