Arabic Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Muscat is seeking a dedicated Arabic Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will deliver Arabic language instruction using the SABIS® system and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Mark exams according to department schedules and guidelines.
• Implement the SABIS® point system to foster a conducive classroom atmosphere.
• Prepare and participate in student‑life activities such as art, open house, and physical education in coordination with the student‑life coordinator.
• Teach using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts as needed.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Invigilate exams and ensure a properly managed exam environment.
• Support low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Assist with external exam preparation, including past‑paper revision schedules.
• Perform additional duties such as testing, substituting for absent teachers, organizing lunches and transport, and other administrative tasks assigned by SABIS® management.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS® system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent qualification.
• Native Arabic speaker.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
