Audit & Assurance Manager – Deloitte (Muscat)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Audit & Assurance Manager to join its Muscat office. You will lead audit engagements, build trust with stakeholders, and ensure high‑quality audit delivery for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Review documentation of transaction flows and test relevant controls early in the audit cycle.
• Suggest mitigating testing when controls are ineffective and apply professional skepticism to assess fraud risks and potential misstatements.
• Identify opportunities to add value by leveraging expertise across the firm and integrating specialists into audit teams.
• Participate in group risk assessment scoping and prepare clear referral instructions for component auditors.
• Run regular file checks, maintain appropriate file structures, and ensure all audit points are cleared before completion.
• Engage early with the extended engagement team, communicate expectations, deadlines, and project plans clearly.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to build credibility with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in reviewing audit documentation and testing controls.
• Strong professional skepticism and ability to assess fraud and governance risks.
• Proven track record of adding value through cross‑functional collaboration.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with component auditors and internal teams.
