Construction Manager - Jetties

About the role

Mace is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of jetties, berths, revetments and related marine structures for a major new port facility. You will work on‑site, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the project meets safety, quality and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction of jetties, berths, revetments, piling and associated marine structures.
• Ensure full compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications and approved designs.
• Maintain a full‑time on‑site presence to drive safe, high‑quality, on‑schedule delivery.
• Monitor materials and workmanship, including concrete, reinforcement and structural element testing.
• Inspect formwork, reinforcement and structural steel for alignment, level and installation accuracy.
• Review contractor inspection requests, approve works or raise non‑conformance reports.
• Verify precast elements meet design and quality standards and ensure structural tolerances are achieved.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil provisions.
• Support defect resolution during the liability period and contribute to net‑zero carbon transition goals.

Required profile

• Registered Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience, including at least 6 years in port and marine construction.
• Proven experience on a minimum of two breakwater projects in a similar capacity.
• Strong site supervision and quality‑assurance capability in marine works.
• Consultancy background with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
