Construction Manager - Quarry

About the role

Mace is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead quarry operations for a major port development. You will ensure a reliable supply of rock material that meets strict design and specification requirements, supporting a large‑scale marine breakwater project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all quarry activities to deliver compliant rock materials.
• Validate rock quality against design specifications (gradation, strength, durability).
• Supervise sampling, testing and verification processes, driving quality control and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering and QA/QC teams to align material supply with breakwater design needs.
• Maintain full traceability, documentation and reporting of all materials.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and operational standards.
• Support net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Geology, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in quarry operations and rock quality control on marine/breakwater projects.
• Proven involvement in at least two rock sourcing, testing and production management projects.
• Strong knowledge of rock specifications, gradation and international standards (BS, ASTM).
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume production with rigorous quality assurance.
• Consultancy background with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
