Digital Press & Media Specialist

About the role

The Digital Press & Media Specialist supports Omantel’s corporate brand identity by managing media perception and delivering effective communication activities. Working within the Strategy & Innovation division, the role focuses on aligning public relations with the company’s marketing strategy and new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the line manager to develop and execute approved communication plans.
• Ensure PR and media activities reflect Omantel’s brand, marketing strategy, and corporate strategic plan.
• Propose innovative PR approaches for corporate responsibility initiatives.
• Draft press releases, stories, and features in English and Arabic, and respond to media inquiries.
• Identify and pursue new public relations opportunities to maximise positive coverage.
• Work with external agencies to create compelling PR campaigns and materials.
• Monitor press coverage and reputation, taking corrective actions when required.
• Act as account manager for assigned business units, coordinating PR projects across departments and external media agencies.
• Liaise with internal teams to keep company information up‑to‑date and ensure smooth communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications.
• Strong analytical thinking, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude with solid ethics and compliance awareness.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and Arabic for drafting press materials.
• Experience in media relations and managing external PR agencies.
• Understanding of corporate branding, marketing strategy, and telecommunications environment.
