Early‑career Accountant – Muscat

About the role

Sohar Shipping LLC is seeking an early‑career Accountant to join its finance team in Muscat. The role offers hands‑on exposure to core financial processes, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and reporting, while providing structured on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions, journal entries, and VAT/tax filings.
• Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Conduct bank and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare management reports and support international principal reporting.
• Utilise the Jupiter (JBM) financial system for daily operations.
• Assist in developing and improving finance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Omani nationals are particularly encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience or familiarity with Jupiter (JBM) financial system.
• Fundamental accounting knowledge, including accounts payable and reporting.
