Expert Contract Engineer

About the role

The Expert Contract Engineer provides end‑to‑end engineering and technical support for contract processes across large‑scale projects. Working closely with internal project teams, the role ensures that contract formation, award, administration and close‑out are executed efficiently, commercially sound and compliant with legal and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex contractual and commercial terms for Projects, EPC, Consultancy, FEED, operational and maintenance contracts.
• Lead the full contract life‑cycle from pre‑award strategy, tender specification development, bid evaluation, award approval to post‑award management, including change orders, insurance, claims mitigation and dispute escalation.
• Provide guidance and training to contract engineers on best practices for drafting and managing contracts.
• Collaborate with end‑user departments to define procurement methods, assess risks and ensure cost control.
• Support vendor negotiations to maximise economic value while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with legal, HSE and finance functions to align contracts with corporate policies and international standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract engineering or contract management within large infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC, FEED and consultancy contract structures and commercial law.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
