Factory General Manager – Wood Pallets Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Factory General Manager to lead our wood pallets manufacturing plant in Sohar, Oman. The role oversees daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while meeting customer specifications and production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct daily supervision of warehouse personnel to achieve objectives and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient operation.
• Interview, select, train, and motivate employees for increased effectiveness.
• Manage shipping and receiving schedules and assignments to ensure effective daily operations.
• Recommend programs to improve warehouse operations and assist the Plant Manager with space utilization and cost standards.
• Supervise checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
• Conduct physical inventories as required and maintain production records.
• Apply communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining subordinates.
• Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct quality audits, supervise repair and inspection activities, and take disciplinary action when needed.
• Develop and implement daily equipment allocation plans and coordinate with the Maintenance Mechanic.
• Prepare and maintain all records and reports regarding warehouse activity.
• Evaluate housekeeping, security, and sanitation levels daily and ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Engineer, graduate, high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5‑8 years experience in a similar position.
• 4‑5 years management experience with emphasis on leadership, supervision, communication and planning.
• Physical ability to lift, pull or flip pallets weighing 75‑85 lb and stand or walk for extended periods.
