APG Crew Chief – F-16 Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

The APG Crew Chief is responsible for keeping F-16 aircraft in safe, operational condition. This role involves hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and supervision of a team to ensure all airframe and engine components meet strict performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Service engines, airframe components, and electro‑mechanical systems at the organizational level.
• Perform major maintenance such as landing‑gear replacement, flight‑control replacement, and periodical inspections.
• Conduct end‑of‑runway, post‑flight, pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and phase inspections.
• Supervise flight chief, expediter, crew chief, repair, reclamation, quality‑assurance and maintenance support functions.
• Execute integrated combat turns, hot‑pit refuels, and ground handling operations.
• Diagnose and resolve system failures using technical data and maintenance procedures.
• Inspect aircraft structures, components, and ground equipment for clearances, tolerances, and corrosion.
• Maintain accurate maintenance forms, records, and inventory of aircraft equipment.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience on F‑16 Block 50 or similar aircraft.
• High school diploma or GED with a completion certificate.
• Experience with intermediate‑level maintenance, phase inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
• Proven ability to provide on‑the‑job training (OJT) to technicians.
• Capability to obtain and maintain required facility credentials/authorization (U.S. citizenship preferred).
