Health, Safety & Environment Officer – Brownfield Project

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team on a major brownfield expansion project in Sohar, Oman. The role involves ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards in line with regulatory and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external HSE site audits, inspections and routine surveys.
• Develop audit documentation, track corrective actions and monitor trends.
• Assist in preparing HSE procedures, programs and technical documents.
• Support the HSE Management System and maintain related documentation.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and generate detailed safety analytics.
• Produce periodic HSE reports and provide safety analytics.
• Take part in Job Safety Assessments using relevant risk assessment tools.
• Lead daily Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and conduct inspections of contractors, personnel and equipment per Vale checklists.
• Monitor and report weekly audit and inspection results and track action plans on a monthly basis.

Required profile

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in construction and oil & gas, preferably in brownfield construction and commissioning projects.
• Fluency in English and either Hindi or Chinese; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

What we offer

• Salary ranging from 900 to 1100 OMR per month, inclusive of food, accommodation and transport.
