Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager will lead the Housekeeping Department to ensure that rooms and public areas meet the hotel’s vision, brand personality, and high standards of quality, presentation, and cleanliness. This role involves supervising daily operations, coordinating with other departments, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement executive committee decisions within the Housekeeping Department and contribute to strategic discussions.
• Maintain alignment with hotel vision, policies, procedures, and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Build and nurture a high‑performing team, delegating authority, scheduling staff, and recognizing outstanding performance.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members, ensuring the right fit for each role.
• Develop and monitor the annual departmental business plan and budget, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate effectively across all hotel areas, leading concise departmental meetings and ensuring follow‑up.
• Collaborate with Engineering to establish preventative maintenance and manage inventory of supplies, chemicals, linens, and amenities.
• Support sustainability initiatives such as Earth Check branding for Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a housekeeping team in a hotel environment.
• Strong understanding of health‑and‑safety standards and hotel operational policies.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets and business plans.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on teamwork and staff development.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing operational strategies and requirements.
