Internal Audit Associate

About the role

An audit firm in Oman is looking for an Internal Audit Associate to support the execution of internal audit assignments across various clients and business processes. The role covers audit procedures, testing, documentation and follow-up, and works under the guidance of the Senior Audit Associate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Manager in planning and executing audits, understand client processes, risks and controls, and perform procedures according to the approved audit programme.
• Carry out substantive and control testing, review supporting documents and records, and identify exceptions, control gaps and unusual transactions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate working papers, with proper indexing and cross-referencing, in line with the firm's methodology.
• Help assess risks and internal controls, flag control deficiencies, and suggest practical recommendations.
• Collect and analyse financial and operational data, run basic analytical procedures and use Excel and other audit tools.
• Support audit observations, findings, reports and management letters, and track the implementation of recommendations.
• Work in line with professional standards, company policies and regulatory requirements, keeping client information confidential.
