Kitchen Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Maintenance Technician ensures that all kitchen equipment and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate smoothly and safely. This role supports hotel, canteen, or catering environments by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair kitchen appliances such as ovens, fryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, and coffee machines.
• Conduct preventive maintenance schedules and promptly address equipment failures.
• Perform electrical tasks including work on distribution boards, wiring, sockets, and circuit breakers.
• Handle plumbing duties such as water line repairs, drainage maintenance, and grease trap servicing.
• Carry out mechanical and HVAC work, particularly on fan coil units (FCU).
• Respond to breakdown calls, keep accurate service records, and follow safety and hygiene protocols.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and knowledge of safety standards.
• Preferred experience in five‑star hotel kitchens or large catering operations.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring, distribution board (DB) and breaker maintenance.
• Plumbing systems, water line and drainage repair.
• HVAC maintenance, especially fan coil units.
• Repair and preventive maintenance of kitchen appliances (ovens, fryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, coffee machines).
