Land Surveyor

About the role

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is hiring a full-time Land Surveyor in Muscat. The surveyor prepares site data and sets out works for civil engineering and construction projects, working closely with engineers and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out initial surveys and impact assessments on potential sites to check whether plans are workable.
• Measure and install control points and benchmarks, set them up according to total station and GPS requirements, and collect the data needed for accurate, timely completion of work.
• Collect topography data to map the shape of the land and provide technical information to engineers and project managers.
• Study approved drawings from the draughtsman and prepare grade sheets.
• Set out road alignments and levels, take OGL and topographic data, and set out embankment layers, storm water drainage lines, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, cut-off walls and progress levels.
• Set out feature ducts, irrigation, sewer, landscaping and other utility ducts, as well as safety barriers and water lines of 300 and 400 mm diameter.
• Set out electrical and telephone cables and relocate them with levels.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in land surveying of infrastructure projects.
