Manager Business Ethics

About the role

The Manager Business Ethics is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the bank’s ethics and conduct framework. This includes ensuring compliance with Omani laws, Central Bank of Oman requirements and the bank’s internal policies while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Bank’s Ethics Framework, ensuring alignment with Omani laws, Central Bank of Oman regulations and international best practices.
• Draft, maintain and obtain Board approval for the Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy, and regularly update related policies such as Conflict of Interest, Gifts and Hospitality, Anti‑Bribery, AML/CFT, Whistleblowing and Data Protection.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accountability and transparency by designing and delivering mandatory ethics and conduct training, awareness campaigns and communication programmes for all staff.
• Manage employee disclosure and annual attestation processes covering conflicts of interest, confidentiality and gifts.
• Oversee monitoring mechanisms, investigations and reporting of ethics breaches, including whistleblowing handling and corrective actions.
• Support customer protection, fair treatment and ethical sales practices through guidance and recognition initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing and governing ethics, compliance or conduct frameworks within a banking or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and Central Bank of Oman requirements.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams, deliver training programmes and communicate ethical standards effectively.
• Experience in managing investigations, whistleblowing mechanisms and reporting to senior management or the Board.
