Mechanical Engineer – Solar IPP Project

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Technical Advisory Team supporting a utility‑scale Solar Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. You will provide specialist mechanical engineering input throughout project development, procurement and contract negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute mechanical engineering expertise to the Project Definition Report and technical concept development.
• Review plant configurations, identify mechanical requirements and interface impacts.
• Develop Minimum Functional Specifications, technical schedules, performance requirements and equipment specifications for the RFP.
• Assess mechanical aspects of solar plant technologies, auxiliary systems and infrastructure.
• Analyse site studies, advise on mechanical constraints, risks and constructability.
• Participate in technical evaluation of bidder proposals, including equipment review and performance guarantees.
• Prepare and respond to technical clarifications during the RFQ/RFP process.
• Support negotiations with shortlisted bidders and contribute to project agreements.
• Coordinate mechanical requirements with other disciplines (electrical, civil, HSE, etc.).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in power generation, renewable energy or large‑scale infrastructure.
• Experience with utility‑scale Solar PV or Solar IPP projects is highly desirable.
