Physics Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher to join our faculty at The International School of Choueifat in Muscat. The successful candidate will deliver the SABIS® curriculum, support student achievement, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Invigilate exams and ensure a properly managed exam environment.
• Teach using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on SABIS® pacing charts.
• Mark exams according to departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS® point system to maintain a conducive classroom environment.
• Support low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers as scheduled.
• Assist with duties such as testing, substitute teaching, organizing lunches and buses, traffic control, and other administrative tasks.
• Participate in student‑life events (art, open house, physical education) in coordination with the student‑life coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS® system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent qualification.
• Proficient or native English speaker, depending on subject requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to meet all local employment, certification, reference, and background check requirements.
