Piping Inspector

About the role

The Piping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all piping fabrication, welding, repair and tie‑in activities on offshore installations meet the required quality standards. The role involves verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes and project requirements throughout the production process.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection of piping root pass, tie‑in welds, repairs and fabrication activities at the yard.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings (IFD/IFR/ISO), welding procedure specifications (WPS), inspection and test plans (ITP), quality control plans (QCP) and project specifications.
• Witness and monitor fit‑up, alignment, joint preparation, welding parameters and consumable control.
• Ensure RTR welds are correctly identified, recorded and traceable.
• Check welder qualifications (WPQ) and confirm validity for applicable welding processes.
• Confirm welding is performed according to approved WPS/PQR.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) for RTR welds.
• Review and accept NDT reports and ensure proper closure of non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
