About the role
The Piping Inspector will ensure that all piping fabrication, welding, repair and tie‑in activities on offshore installations meet the required drawings, specifications, codes and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with welding teams, NDT personnel and project engineers to guarantee compliance and traceability.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect root‑pass and tie‑in welds, repairs and fabrication work at the yard and offshore sites.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings (IFD/IFR/ISO), welding procedure specifications (WPS), inspection and test plans (ITP) and quality control plans (QCP).
- Witness and monitor fit‑up, alignment, joint preparation, welding parameters and consumable control.
- Ensure RTR welds are correctly identified, recorded and traceable.
- Check welder qualifications (WPQ) and confirm validity for the applicable welding processes.
- Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) for RTR welds and review NDT reports.
- Manage non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure proper closure.
Required profile
- Proven experience in piping and welding inspection on offshore or similar high‑specification projects.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes (ISO, IFD/IFR) and project quality documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
