Relationship Officer – SME Banking (Sohar)

About the role

The Relationship Officer will manage and grow a portfolio of SME liability accounts in Sohar, identifying income‑generating opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships. The role supports the bank’s strategic objectives through business planning, deposit acquisition, and strict adherence to credit and operational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify potential SME clients and develop income‑generating opportunities within defined markets and industries.
• Create and maintain an annual business plan and sales budget for the assigned portfolio.
• Promote liability products to meet sales targets and contribute to branch performance.
• Manage a portfolio of SME customers to ensure profitability and client retention.
• Conduct regular client reviews, propose solutions aligned with bank strategy, and handle queries or complaints promptly.
• Ensure compliance with the bank’s Group Credit Policy, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor account activities, identify risk exposure, and escalate issues as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement through innovation, automation, and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transaction processing and service delivery.

Required profile

• Omani nationality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of banking experience, preferably in SME Banking, Business Banking, or Retail Relationship Management.
• Experience with liability products, customer acquisition, and portfolio management is preferred.
