Renewable Energy Counsel - Senior Associate

About the role

This senior legal position supports an emerging practice in Oman, advising on renewable‑energy and energy‑infrastructure projects across the Gulf region. The role involves hands‑on work throughout the project lifecycle, from development and procurement to financing, construction, operation, and investment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise developers, investors, lenders, utilities and contractors on utility‑scale solar, wind and related projects.
• Draft, review and negotiate core agreements such as PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, connection, shareholders’, joint‑venture and land‑lease documents.
• Provide guidance on project structuring, risk allocation, permitting, licensing and regulatory compliance.
• Lead project‑finance matters, including financing documentation, security packages, direct agreements and legal due diligence to financial close.
• Conduct M&A and investment due diligence, draft SPAs, investment and shareholders’ agreements, and advise on portfolio acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Senior‑level lawyer with extensive experience in renewable‑energy project development and project finance.
• Background in corporate, banking & finance, energy or infrastructure law is preferred.
• Ability to draft and negotiate complex transaction documents and provide commercial, risk‑focused advice.
• Comfortable working independently without direct supervision of junior lawyers.
