Senior Contract Engineer – Procurement (Finance)

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer will lead the full contract life‑cycle for a range of services within the Finance‑Procurement function. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Contracts, the role ensures contracts are prepared, tendered, negotiated and managed in line with OQ’s policies, Omani regulations and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end tendering process, including preparation of tender specifications, pre‑qualification, bid evaluation and contractor selection.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, commercial terms and conditions to protect company interests.
• Support pre‑award and post‑award contract administration, including change orders, insurance, claims mitigation and contract close‑out.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align contract requirements with business needs and ensure synergy across contracts.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and update tracking tools with the latest information.
• Conduct supplier visits, monitor market trends and build strong regional supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and escalate disputes with legal support when required.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in contract and procurement management, preferably within a large corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of Omani legal and regulatory frameworks related to contracts.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
