Senior Integration Engineer

About the role

RQMNA is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to design and operate a robust, event‑driven integration backbone that unifies dozens of government and enterprise systems. The role is based on‑site in Muscat and focuses on delivering seamless, reliable data flow across legacy and modern platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the integration layer using an enterprise service bus, API gateways, and an event streaming backbone.
• Architect event‑driven patterns such as publish/subscribe, streaming, and change‑data capture for real‑time data movement.
• Create API‑first contracts with versioning, schema governance, and a developer portal.
• Connect modern services with legacy and government systems securely and efficiently.
• Implement resilience mechanisms: idempotency, retries, dead‑letter handling, backpressure, and guaranteed delivery.
• Develop B2B and EDI exchanges for cross‑entity document and data flows.
• Integrate security, observability, and distributed tracing to ensure end‑to‑end auditability.
• Define integration standards, reusable patterns, and mentor other engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade enterprise integrations that handle real traffic.
• Fluency with ESB, API management, and event streaming technologies such as Kafka and webMethods.
• Strong understanding of event‑first, asynchronous design and when synchronous approaches are appropriate.
• Ability to design for failure with idempotency, retries, dead‑letter queues, and exactly‑once delivery where needed.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Clear documentation skills and a mindset for reusable patterns.
• Fluent English required; Arabic is a plus.
