Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will plan, execute and supervise complex mechanical engineering and maintenance activities for a power and water plant. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of rotating and static equipment while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex mechanical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan and supervise preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance in line with OEM recommendations and plant strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians during overhauls, shutdowns and emergency repairs.
• Develop, review and update SOPs, work instructions and technical documentation.
• Manage spare‑parts specifications, tender processes and vendor contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of relevant mechanical engineering and maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and quality standards (OSHA, HSE).

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Condition monitoring and performance analysis.
• Experience with SAP/CMMS systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
• Development of SOPs and technical documentation.
