Senior Process Engineer

About the role

As 44.01 expands its global footprint, we are looking for a technically skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our engineering team in Muscat, Oman. You will be responsible for turning early‑stage concepts into detailed, executable designs while supporting sustainability and commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept designs, feasibility studies, scopes of work, timelines, resource plans and cost estimates.
• Manage interactions with engineering consultants and design contractors through Concept, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Produce core deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), heat & material balances, equipment sizing, process datasheets and utility flow schemes.
• Perform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus or equivalent tools to validate and optimise designs.
• Lead technical workshops (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, design reviews) to ensure risk and design assurance.
• Support procurement activities, including preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluation and vendor clarifications.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives focused on energy efficiency and carbon‑footprint reduction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of process‑engineering experience, with strong exposure to Concept, Pre‑FEED and FEED phases.
• Proven ability to manage and review work from contractors, consultants and vendors.
• Solid understanding of international engineering standards (API, ASME, IEC).
• Experience with cost estimation, scheduling and value‑engineered design.
• Bonus: experience in CO₂ capture, utilization, storage (CCUS) or mineralisation projects.
