Senior QA/QC Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior QA/QC Engineer to join Thawani’s quality engineering team. In this hands‑on position you will ensure the reliability, security and overall quality of our fintech products across mobile, web and API layers. You will collaborate closely with product owners, developers and DevOps to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain test strategies, plans and cases for mobile, web and API testing.
• Execute manual functional, regression, integration, exploratory and usability tests.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for iOS, Android, web browsers and RESTful/SOAP APIs.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks using tools such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, and REST Assured or Postman.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and rapid feedback.
• Validate fintech business flows including digital wallets, QR payments, transfers, bill payments, card tokenisation and insurance services.
• Identify, document, track and verify defects across development, testing, UAT and production environments.
• Contribute to security and performance testing to meet fintech‑grade standards.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and uphold quality engineering standards.
• Participate in technical discussions, release readiness reviews and continuous improvement of QA processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience in both manual and automation testing across mobile, web and API layers.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, the software testing lifecycle and test design techniques.
• Proven experience testing native and cross‑platform mobile applications on iOS and Android.
• Experience testing web applications across multiple browsers.
• Ability to analyse business requirements and UI/UX designs for testability and edge cases.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and reviewing test artefacts.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging testing tools, automation frameworks and AI‑assisted testing practices.
