Senior Structure Engineer

About the role

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is hiring a full-time Senior Structure Engineer in Muscat. The role covers structural works on site, from shop drawings and method statements to material coordination, inspections and as-built drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input for shop drawings to the draftsman and liaise with the engineer for approvals.
• Prepare method statements for works in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Plan works, coordinate with the planning team to match the project schedule, and estimate material and resource needs.
• Arrange materials and resources and oversee site execution with the supervisors.
• Liaise with the client and consultant on technical queries and issues.
• Coordinate with the QC inspector for inspection and test requirements and records, and with the quantity surveyor for work quantities.
• Prepare markup and as-built drawings with the supervisors and draughtsman.
• Assist the storekeeper in inspecting materials delivered directly to site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6-8 years of experience.
• Experience in structural excavation, backfilling, scaffolding, shuttering, reinforcement fixing and concreting of reinforced concrete structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and protection works.
