About the role
The Seaways is seeking a Trainee Ordinary Seaman (Tr.OS) to join a 2,000 GRT cargo vessel operating out of Muscat, Oman. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience aboard a commercial ship with the potential for permanent employment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior crew members in routine deck operations and vessel maintenance.
- Support safety procedures and emergency drills on board.
- Participate in cargo handling and stowage activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
Required profile
- Eligible for the Trainee Ordinary Seaman rank.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience or certification.
- Available to join from Dubai or Oman within two days of offer.
- Valid seafarer documents and travel permits.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of deck operations and vessel safety standards.
What we offer
- Monthly salary of 300‑350 OMR (approximately USD 350) for a 9‑month contract.
