Communications Manager

About the role

The Communications Manager will shape and deliver Oman Air’s communication strategy across service, commercial and disruption touchpoints, ensuring messages are timely, accurate and customer‑focused. The role also leads the airline’s sustainability narrative, embedding ESG commitments into brand storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement clear, customer‑centric communications for operational updates, service changes and disruptions.
• Review, audit and approve all communications across airport announcements, inflight scripts, digital channels and printed materials.
• Partner with operational, customer service and commercial teams to ensure proactive, consistent messaging.
• Oversee commercial campaign communications, including promotions, partnerships and route launches.
• Manage real‑time crisis communications to protect brand trust.
• Define and drive the airline’s sustainability strategy and narrative.
• Create and manage sustainability reports, press releases and stakeholder content.
• Act as spokesperson for sustainability topics and maintain media and industry relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Environmental Studies or related field (master’s a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in aviation or travel.
• Proven experience developing sustainability strategies and narratives.
• Strong knowledge of airline operations, customer communications and crisis management.
• Professional copywriting experience with high‑quality, on‑brand content.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital communications tools and analytics platforms.
• Experience with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, CDP).
• Knowledge of sustainable aviation trends such as SAF, electrification and carbon offsetting.
