Flow Controller I – Baggage Handling Operations

About the role

The Flow Controller I ensures smooth baggage movement across designated BHS (Baggage Handling System) zones at an airport. You will monitor conveyor lines, resolve jams, and support real‑time operations to guarantee on‑time baggage delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor baggage flow and identify potential congestion or irregularities.
• Clear bag jams safely, minimizing downtime.
• Respond immediately to system faults, alarms, and operational calls from SCADA or Shift Leaders.
• Assist with manual bag handling when required to maintain continuity.
• Maintain continuous communication with SCADA operators and report incidents promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and report unsafe conditions.
• Keep assigned areas clean, perform regular technical cleaning, and participate in FOD control.
• Support maintenance technicians during preventive and corrective activities.
• Provide accurate shift handover reports and contribute to operational reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–4 years experience in industrial, logistics, or airport operations (BHS experience preferred).
• Valid driving licence (preferred/required based on site needs).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical capability to lift, walk, bend and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with SCADA interfaces.
• Basic computer literacy.
