IT Summer Trainee – HPC Training Program

About the role

Join Viridien’s Summer Training Program as an IT Summer Trainee and gain hands‑on experience with high‑performance computing (HPC) technologies. This entry‑level position is designed for undergraduate students who want to apply physics and mathematics to real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and assist with the installation and configuration of Linux‑based HPC clusters.
• Support GPU performance tuning and Fully Automatic Installation (FAI) processes.
• Assist in managing HPC storage solutions, including RAID 6 and Virtual Disk Services (VDS).
• Configure and maintain network components such as VLANs for HPC environments.
• Participate in data management tasks, including hierarchical storage management (HSM) and tape robot library operations.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues under guidance.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a BSc program in Computer Science.
• Ability to apply fundamental principles to moderately complex assignments.
• Confidence in using software tools for advanced technical tasks.
• Strong organizational skills to plan and execute work efficiently.
