Lighting & Smart Home Design Engineer

About the role

The company seeks a Lighting & Smart Home Design Engineer to lead low‑voltage lighting design and smart‑home integration for client projects and the showroom. The role blends creative lighting concepts with solid technical expertise in LED systems and home automation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lighting concepts for residential, hospitality and commercial projects, defining layers, colour temperature, CRI, lux levels and glare control.
• Select luminaires and accessories from the showroom portfolio and produce mood boards, renders and visualisations using DIALux, Relux, SketchUp or 3ds Max.
• Design complete smart‑home solutions covering lighting, motorised curtains, HVAC, audio, video intercom, access control and energy monitoring, specifying wired or wireless topologies (KNX, Zigbee, Wi‑Fi, Matter, etc.).
• Produce technical drawings, circuit plans, driver schedules and load calculations in AutoCAD/Revit, ensuring compliance with IEC and Omani regulations.
• Support sales by presenting concepts to clients, preparing quotations, and coordinating with contractors during installation and commissioning.
• Own the showroom’s lighting and automation displays, maintaining demo scenes and supporting events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Lighting Design, Architectural Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in lighting design and low‑voltage LED systems, with hands‑on smart‑home commissioning.
• Strong portfolio of residential, hospitality or retail projects.
• Proficiency in DIALux (or Relux), AutoCAD and Revit; 3D visualisation skills are a plus.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
