Senior AI Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design and ship generative AI features for a national platform in Muscat. You will work on production‑grade large language model applications, focusing on Arabic and English use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement production AI features built on large language models, with an emphasis on Arabic language support.
• Develop retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines that combine enterprise and citizen data.
• Build agentic AI solutions, including tool‑using multi‑step agents with human‑in‑the‑loop safeguards.
• Engineer prompt, context, and vector‑search strategies that underpin reliable AI outputs.
• Define and run evaluations, safety checks, bias mitigation, and auditability measures.
• Integrate AI components into platform applications ensuring low latency and high reliability.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Scientists, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with hands‑on experience delivering applied generative AI to production.
• Deep familiarity with large language models, RAG, agents, and prompt/context engineering.
• Commitment to building evaluations and guardrails as part of the development process.
• Focus on output quality, latency, safety, and especially Arabic language quality.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a valuable advantage.
