Senior Project Manager – Banking and Waterfall Delivery

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple concurrent banking projects using a strict Waterfall methodology. The role ensures governance, control and alignment with organisational objectives while coordinating across business and IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement project control frameworks, ensuring compliance with PMO standards and audit requirements.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules and milestone tracking for parallel initiatives.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost control to guarantee financial governance.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues and change requests.
• Maintain senior stakeholder communication, including steering committees, business heads and vendors.
• Coordinate inter‑project dependencies to avoid conflicts and ensure consistent deliverables.
• Facilitate steering committee meetings and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Oversee vendor engagements, RFPs and third‑party performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering banking projects (core banking, regulatory or transformation) using Waterfall.
• Proven background in PMO and multi‑project management.
• Strong senior stakeholder management, including steering committees and vendor relations.
• Ability to manage budgets, risks and changes in a complex banking environment.
