AMO Engineer I – Wireline Services

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a motivated AMO Engineer I to join its Wireline Services team. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience in maintaining, repairing, calibrating and testing downhole and surface Wireline equipment while developing core engineering competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Support maintenance, repair, inspection, calibration and testing of Wireline downhole and surface equipment.
• Assist preventive‑maintenance programs to boost equipment reliability and availability.
• Participate in troubleshooting and failure investigations under supervision.
• Follow maintenance procedures, technical manuals and quality processes.
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records and equipment documentation.
• Help manage workshop inventory, spare parts and asset tracking.
• Conduct equipment function testing and readiness checks before deployment.
• Contribute to 6S, continuous‑improvement and Lean initiatives in the workshop.
• Comply with HSE, quality and company policies; support audits and corrective‑action programs.
• Complete mandatory technical training, competency assessments and on‑the‑job learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant maintenance or engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Experience using measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of torque equipment.
• Ability to operate multimeters.
• Familiarity with insulation testers.
