Assistant Director of IT

About the role

The Assistant Director of IT supports the Director of IT in overseeing the hotel’s technology landscape, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT services for daily operations and guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day IT operations, including servers, network infrastructure, Wi‑Fi, switches, firewalls and other equipment.
• Oversee hotel‑specific systems such as the Property Management System (PMS), Point‑of‑Sale (POS), door lock/key‑card, telephone/PABX, guest Wi‑Fi, CCTV, time‑attendance, HR/payroll and finance applications.
• Provide timely technical support to all departments, handle user account provisioning and maintain IT documentation.
• Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, patches, vulnerability management and data backup/disaster recovery.
• Coordinate IT projects, system upgrades and new technology implementations, working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with IT budgeting, cost control, vendor management and compliance with company and brand standards.

Required skills

• Server administration and maintenance.
• Network infrastructure design, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Wi‑Fi, switch and firewall configuration.
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point‑of‑Sale (POS) platforms.
• Door lock/key‑card and CCTV system support.
• Cybersecurity practices, including antivirus, patch management and vulnerability scanning.
• Backup, disaster recovery and data protection procedures.
• User account and access management.
